This journal has been long overdue for an update.

I moved out of Montreal at the end of August.  I've lived with Aunt Gail here down in lower Connecticut for the past 7 weeks or so, while applying for jobs and finishing thesis revisions.  My funds completely exhausted, I've been living on the kind generosity of my aunt, along with a pretty frugal/ ( Read more... )

I can feel myself drawing to this ambiguous (yet quickly approaching) ending to a chapter without a distinct ending.  I'm clinging onto this chapter that I do not yet want to end, yet the weight of the turning page is steadily becoming too much to bear holding onto for much longer.

I begin an internship next week at Hydro Quebec Distribution.  I'm excited.  I'm a little nervous.  I have no idea how I am going to fit this in my schedule, atop my current internship at CEATI (though my hours there have been increasingly intermittent), my three courses, and my lab work.

Last week was Reading Week.  It's basically McGill's "spring break" week.  Except for grad students like me who actually need to use the week for what it was initially designed for and named for - reading.  I spent much of the week reading and moving into a new apartment.  I also managed to hang out with some folks and have a little fun.  All in ( Read more... )

I was looking through all the pictures in Facebook in which I am tagged. You know, the usual nostaglic things I do up here in Montreal whenever I wish slightly that I was back in Ohio (especially during the onset of winter...). After a 15-hour drive with Leonda to Montreal, I now have a new apartment, new McGill student ID, new bank account, new phone, and even a new friend.  What I will no longer have is my car.  However, I LOVE the apartment (which I scored majorly lucky on), love the people here so far, love the school so far, etc.
